EFTTA was represented at the latest meeting of the North Western Water Advisory Council (NWWAC) meeting in Dublin last week.
Environmental and Fisheries Legal Advisor, Anna Szczodrowska, attended a number of sessions, including a meeting of a working group on the English Channel where one of the main issues under discussion was the Choke Mitigation Tool (CMT) system and the management of sole stocks.
She was also present at the council's Annual General Assembly (AGA) and its Executive Committee meeting.
During the AGA Emiel Brouckhaert was reappointed as General Assembly Honorary President and Chair. The European Anglers Alliance (EAA) was also reappointed as a member of the Executive Committee.
Conservation group, Seas at Risk, also gave a presentation on the functioning of the Advisory Councils and submitted a number of amendments to improve its performance.
